Approximately 50 watts RMS per channel and inputs to burn this is a 70's classic. American design and Japanese manufacture from 1973 to 1975 at a list price of $480.00 USD.

The Set Up...
I gave this unit an extensive listen coupled to a pair of vintage Celestion Ditton 15 speakers. Jazz Jazz and more Jazz.

I tested this amp listening to Cassandra Wilson ‘glamoured’ and Diana Krall ‘Live in Paris ’. Diana Krall Live is a favorite test Cd as the live vocals are extremely demanding with the sharp and sudden attacks that come from performing live at the piano. These sudden vocal attacks highlight the ability of the amp to respond to sudden dynamic change without becoming harsh or unstable.

The Sound..
So how did the HK 930 perform. Well the first thing I noticed was the smoothness of the sound, warmth if you like. There was no spikiness to the music and yet the highs were clear and free of distortion. The amplifier responded to fast musical attacks and rich full double bass as flawlessly as any I have heard. Bass rich full and controlled. Vocal and piano highs where tight and clean (sometimes the oscillations of the voice can go a little awry but not here). The next thing I noticed was the beautiful wide sound stage; very stable, nothing moving around relocating itself. "You can pick out the instruments on the stage and they stay there!" That might sound a little odd but a wide and in this case deep sound stage is not something that you experience with every amplifier, not even some of the vintage greats.

In a nutshell a beautiful sounding receiver with a superb sound stage that delivers the music so effortlessly and musically you will wonder why you have not been hearing music like 'that' for years.
